Remove the mystery from microphones, mixers, amps, and speakers. It’s more than finding the power switch; you’ll learn how to use equalizers, compressors, and other signal modifiers to tweak your sound for professional results. This class includes 22 short theory lessons, delivered as online instruction in the week before live class sessions begin.

The audio theory unit is where you’ll discover the properties of acoustic sound waves, and how different listening environments can change the way sound is perceived by a listener. Then we’ll go hands-on with the gear, learning to build audio systems for live events. Study signal flow, gain structure and practice mixing inputs. Finally, put all of your skills together and develop a complete system design based on a challenging venue.
